Politics and I never get positively political together <br />Politics are full of lies, betrayal and hypocrisy <br />Politics are back stabbers <br /> <br />I am monogamous <br />I am full of joy, peace and happiness <br />I love, care and protect <br /> <br />Politics are polygamous <br />Politics I don’t know “what the hell is that? ” <br />Yet I care, love and protect <br /> <br />I positively become political too <br />As I need us to be one <br />As I want us to be happy together <br /> <br />You paint, scalp and shade yourself <br />So I never overstand your originality <br />Thus I never understand your true self <br /> <br />You politically present your statement <br />“Look into my eyes baby and let truth be told” you state <br />“I love you, ” you elaborate <br />Persuade and convince me to be <br />Then I’m in bed with you <br /> <br />Your demands rise with time <br />But your love never grows <br /> <br />All I get is promises, promises, promises <br /> <br />I regret ever meeting you <br />I despise ever loving you <br />I forbid peace, love and care for you.<br /><br />Zanele Mavuso<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/politics-15/
